Who we are
Dearbound makes custom illustrated keepsake books that star your pet. The service is operated by an independent sole proprietor based in Serbia. By placing an order or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t place an order. You can reach us any time at support@dearbound.com.
What we sell
Each Dearbound book is a personalised, made-to-order digital product, delivered as a print-quality PDF. We paint the illustrations from a photo of your own pet using AI image generation — that’s how each page carries your pet’s real markings and face — and then a person reviews and finishes every book by hand before it reaches you. Because each book is made to order and hand-finished, it isn’t instant.
Orders and payment
When you place an order, you give us the details and the photo we need to make your book, and you confirm that the information you provide is accurate. Prices are shown on the website in US dollars before checkout.
Payment is processed by our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, who acts as the seller of record for your purchase and handles billing and any applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Merchant of Record’s terms at checkout. We begin making your book only after your payment is confirmed.
Delivery
We deliver your finished book as a digital PDF download, sent to the email address you provide, normally within 24–48 hours of your order. No physical item is shipped. Please make sure your email address is correct and check your spam folder if you don’t see it. We keep your finished PDF so you can re-download it when you need to.
Your photo and content
You keep ownership of the photo and details you upload. By uploading them, you confirm that you have the right to use them, and you grant us a limited licence to use them for the single purpose of creating, reviewing, and delivering your book. We don’t use them for anything else, and we don’t sell them. How we handle and retain your files is described in our privacy policy.
Acceptable use
You may use Dearbound only to create lawful, non-explicit keepsakes. You agree to upload only content you have the right to use, and not to upload anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful — including photos of other people used without their permission. You may not use the service to generate sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise NSFW imagery, or any abusive, hateful, or illegal content. We may screen the prompt behind every illustration for prohibited content before it is generated, and we may refuse, cancel, or refund any order that breaks these rules or that we’re unable to fulfil appropriately.
Intellectual property
The finished book we deliver is yours to keep, print, and share for your own personal, non-commercial use. We retain ownership of the Dearbound brand, our story templates and written text, and our illustration style and templates. You may not resell our books or templates or use them to build a competing product.
Refunds and remakes
Every book is looked over by a person before we send it, so it should feel right when it reaches you. If it doesn’t, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we’ll remake it at no cost; if we still can’t make it something you’re glad to keep, we’ll refund you in full. Disclaimers and liability
Our books are creative, made-to-order keepsakes. The illustrations are generated by AI from your photo and finished by hand, so each one is an artistic interpretation of your pet rather than an exact reproduction. The service and the books are provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the product and our services change. The version in effect when you place an order is the one that applies to that order, and the current version is always the one posted here.
